A topical numbing cream is applied 20–30 minutes before treatment, so most clients experience only mild pressure or tingling. Discomfort is minimal compared to the results.
Expect redness and mild swelling for 24–48 hours, similar to a sunburn. Some clients experience minor peeling or dryness in the days following. Avoid sun exposure, heavy makeup, and active skincare ingredients (retinol, acids) for 24–48 hours.
Microneedling is not recommended for clients with active acne breakouts, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis in the treatment area, pregnancy, keloid scar history, or Accutane use within the past 12 months.
